Dale J. Struhar

Dale J. Struhar, Sr., age 79, of Madison, Ohio passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 6, 1944 in Bedford, Ohio to Theresa (Romeo) John Struhar. He married Vicki Heston on December 4, 1981, in Painesville, Ohio. Dale graduated from Bedford High School in 1962 and immediatley enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. After his military service, Dale continued public service as a firefighter, and later Fire Chief in Northfield. He started as a police officer at Sagamore Hills in 1981, and worked his way up to Police Chief, retiring in 2004. Dale adored his family and all the grandkids. There was travelling and family camping…every year. Dale kept busy and always had something to do, from wood-working, to fixing up the house, and to machine embroidery! He is survived by his wife, Vicki Struhar of 41 years; sons, Dale Jr. (Shannon), Scott (Andrea), Dustin (Bethany Molzon), Dan (Amanda Cameron); grandchildren, Santino, Luca, and Blake Struhar, Alyssa and Tyler Cameron. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alex Struhar; parents, Theresa and John; sisters, Sandra Flauto, and Marie Whitbey. Friends will be received 4-8pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio, and conclude with Military Honors.
