George A Brownfield

George A. Brownfield, age 79, of Perry, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus on Thursday, August 08, 2013. He was born April 15, 1934 in Palmer, PA to Phoebe (Brady) and James Brownfield. He married the love of his life, Joan, on July 2, 1955. He retired after 42 years with Marine Mechanical, formerly known as TRW and Argo Tech. After retiring, he opened his own manufacturing business "Focus Manufacturing". George was a member of the Perry United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and family members. He especially loved taking his '51 Mercury to car shows. George truly loved his family. He was a devoted husband and best friend to Joan and a kind, loving father to Sherry (Tom) Witt, Georgia (Larry) Murphy, Cindy (Jeff) Waterman, Kathy (Gary) Dalton and grandfather to Tom & Bill Witt, Larry (Becky), Keith, George (Mollie) &Danny Murphy, Crista & Callie (Jake) Waterman, Robbie, Eric & Brittany Dalton; great-grandfather of Lily & Gunner Murphy. His family loved him and will miss him very much. He is also survived by his brothers, Russell, Robert, Homer Brownfield and sisters, Hazel Camino and Dolly Brownfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers & 6 sisters. Friends will be received 5-7 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio with a memorial service conducted by Rev. Jim Jensen of Perry United Methodist Church at 7:00 PM. A private family service will be held at a later time at the Perry Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in George's name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110-2602 or to Perry United Methodist Church, 3875 Main St., Perry, OH 44081.
