Amber Ruiz left a message on May 25, 2023:
I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Alexanders passing. He was my kids pediatrician for many years and was always very kind each time we had an appointment. I am beyond grateful that my kids received most of their Pediatric care from Dr. A and when I let my oldest know of his passing this morning, his words were "he was a nice man, I always liked seeing him." Imagine that. My son had eczema, a speech impediment, and some other difficult kidney issues when he was small and he remembers those difficult times, but he what he remembered more, was how important Dr. A made him feel each visit and how he personally helped him get the right Speech therapist and Urologist. To hear that Dr. A made these visits easier on him with his kindness and compassionate bedside manner (not to mention his humor) it absolutely warmed my heart. I wish I could thank you Dr. Alexander - not only for your service and dedication to my kids, but to the children and families here in the Coachella Valley but also for your military service and all of your humanitarian efforts you so selflessly gave yourself to. Thank you. You were one of the good ones and I take comfort knowing you are now in a far better place. My condolences and prayers for Dr. Alexanders family. My family shares in your loss and we are so grateful to have known him. God bless.

Alan, you were such a sweet and caring man, a great father and grandfather, a dedicated husband, and a very special father in-law to me. You will be sorely missed, and the world will be sadder place without your wonderful smile and giving soul here. Rest in Peace Alan. All my love, Warren

Al was a kind man and a gentleman. I was their minister in Keokuk til my retirement. I was with Audrey the day Al tumbled off the motor home.

I’m so very sorry to hear about Dr. Alexander. He was an excellent pediatrician and a good man. He even kept my son as his patient after my son started freaking out when Doc was getting a throat swab from him… Doc jumped back, and his rolling stool flew out from under him and down he went. He hit his head, split his elbow open and as I reached down to help him up, he was literally seeing stars. Dr. Alexander admitted that had never happened before, but as always, he was still concerned about my boy and not his own injuries. I’ll be forever grateful for Dr. Alexander.
