Yvonne Hume “Bonnie” Miller, age 93, of Balboa Island, California, was called to her eternal home on November 30, 2021. Daughter of Horace and Hildreth (Snyder) Hume, she was born on October 30, 1928, in London, Ohio, where she later graduated from London High School and attended The Ohio State University. Bonnie married James E. “Jim” Miller, Jr. on December 30, 1948 in London, Ohio. The marriage was blessed with four children. After raising their children in Geneva Township, Yvonne and Jim moved to Balboa Island, California and spent their winters in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Yvonne was a devoted wife and mother, beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. While providing for her family, Yvonne established Homestead Nursing Home, owned Top Drawer Knitting Store in Geneva, was a co-owner of Castaways Night Club, and designed and developed Villa Balboa in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She was a designer, a real estate developer, writer, genealogist, patron of the arts, artists benefactor and a philanthropist. Yvonne was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Geneva, OH and St. James by the Sea Episcopal Church of Newport Beach, CA, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Friendship Club International, a founding donor to the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Garden, and a member of the Ohio Quarter Horse Association She enjoyed art museums, galleries, plays, music, and gardens. She was an avid collector of art and antiques, loved going to the movies, and working on puzzles. She loved, horses, her beloved dog “Emma”, the water, circus, fairs, traveling, garage and estate sales, baking and entertaining. Yvonne is survived by her son Jamie (Margie) Miller of Austinburg, Ohio; her daughters Mary Miller of Rancho Mission Viejo, California and Sarah (Denis) Bergeron of Covington, Louisiana; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Horace & Hildreth (Snyder) Hume; son Robbie Miller and brother Dr. Robert Hume. Friends will be received from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 05, 2021 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S Broadway, Geneva, Ohio, (mask required). The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 06, 2021 at Christ Episcopal Church, 66 S Eagle St, Geneva, Ohio (mask required, please) followed by a graveside service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva, Ohio. Following the graveside service there will be a light luncheon for family and friends at Christ Episcopal Church.
