William H. Hill, Age 73, of Geneva, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 19, 2009 at home.
Born July 15, 1936 in Geneva to Mary (Bragg) & Herbert Hill he married Joyce Hoover April 15, 1958.
Bill was retired from the Geneva U.S. Post Office in 1991 after working 30 years and also helped his father run the Geneva Feed & Supply.
He was a 1954 Graduate of Geneva High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1955-1957 and was in the Reserves until 1962. He was an Ordained Deacon with the Southern Baptist Denomination and a member of Here?s Hope Baptist Church in Madison. He was active with the Buckeye Baptist Builders and the Disaster Relief of Ohio. He and his wife were State Volunteer Coordinators for the Seneca Lake Baptist Camp. They also established a Trailer Park Ministry at the Western Reserve Trailer Park, presenting a bible study to the children. Had been a Mission Service Corp with the North American Baptist Association since 1995. He was Past President of the Geneva Jaycees and a past member of the Geneva Kiwanis. Formerly served as an Assistant Scout Master of Troop 29 and was also a Little League Coach.
He is survived by Wife of 51 years, Joyce Hill of Geneva; Daughter, Heather (Phil) Kohler of Columbiana;
Grandson, Jake Kohler of Columbiana
Granddaughters Hannah Kohler of Columbiana; Kerrie & Katie Hill of Granite Falls, NC.
He was preceded in death by Son, Thomas in 2002, Parents, Herbert in 1995 and Mary in 1993; Brother, Timothy in 1992.
Friends will be received 2-4:00 pm & 6-8 pm, Thursday, October 22, 2009 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory , 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, OHIO
Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Friday, October 23, 2009 at the funeral home with Scott Seder of Seneca Lake Baptist Camp officiating.
Final Resting Place will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva.
