William F. Donatone, Age 87, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 23, 1925, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Sanita (Matriciano) & Joseph Donatone; he married Antoinette L. Esposito in Ashtabula, Ohio on July 6, 1946.
William retired from Reliance Electric. Prior to his tenure at Reliance, he was especially proud of his accomplishments at the Geary Boiler Works and Machine Shop in Ashtabula Harbor. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Certified High Pressure Pipe and Boiler Welder for unlimited pressure and thickness.
William was proud to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II from June 1943 to January 1946 in the China/Burma/India theatre as a sergeant in the 725th Railway Operating Battalion. He qualified as a sharpshooter with the British Enfield Rifle and Carbine. He was a 1942 graduate of Edgewood High School, Ashtabula, Ohio. Lifetime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Member of the Knights of Columbus, Toastmasters International, and VFW Post 943. Loving and devoted husband and father, William enjoyed cooking, golf, walking and watching the Indians and Cavs with his wife, Antoinette. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family who will miss him deeply.

Friends will be received 2-5 PM, Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 West 19th Street, Ashtabula, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, September 17, 2012, at Our Lady of Peace Parish-Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1200 East 21st Street, Ashtabula, Ohio with Rev. Raymond Thomas officiating.
Final Resting Place will be St. Joseph's Cemetery in Ashtabula, Ohio.
