September 16, 1947 ~ March 22, 2023

William Bousquet, age 75, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born September 16, 1947 in Endicott, NY he was the son of Francis and Dorothy (Cassin) Bousquet, both deceased. Bill proudly served our country in the US Army during Vietnam and was awarded the Silver Star for his gallantry in action. He was a brave and honorable man. His family is proud of the man he was and honored to call him theirs. He retired as a Maintenance Mechanic for Morton Salt in Fairport Harbor and over the years made lifelong friendships with many of his coworkers whom he considered family. Bill was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for guns & hunting, loved his boat and fishing on Lake Erie with his brothers, family and friends. Bill preferred the outdoors and being in the woods, this was an integral part of who he was. Playing cards, cooking for others and spending quality time with family and friends is what brought him the most happiness over the years. He was a great storyteller and always delivered when it came to the punchline of his jokes. He was a good dancer and never shied away from a dance floor. When Laura and Bill first met, they danced all night. He loved to ride his motorcycle with Laura and road trips with his friends. In the summertime, he enjoyed riding down and listening to the bands playing at Geneva-on-the-Lake. Bill was a loving spouse, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a loyal, generous and compassionate man who loved his family and friends very much and never too embarrassed or shy to let them know it. Those who knew him both admired and respected him for the man he was. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his companion of over 14 years, Laura Schaefer; his children Veronica (Ernest Jr) Bousquet-Gapen, William Jr., Katrina (Carl) Cobissero, Yvonne Bousquet; step children Julia and Nathan Prendergast; siblings James (Laura) Bousquet, Joesph Bousquet, David Harris, Pamela Bousquet-Garcia & Sheila Bousquet-Giannicchi, Sharon Cadman, Diane Lonsway, Brian Foster, Elroy Foster and many grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought him much joy. Bill was preceded in death by siblings whom he loved dearly; Michael Bousquet, Paula Bousquet-Luke and Ty Harris. Friends will be received from 1:00 to 4:00pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. A Memorial Service will take place at 4:00pm with Military Honors to follow presented by the Madison Community Funeral Honors Team.
