William "Bill" Valis, loving father and husband, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 13, 2017. He was born November 23, 1943, in Cleveland to Anna (Chaplik) and William Valis. Bill married the love of his life, Barbara Yeckley, in Cleveland on May 21, 1966. Bill was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa, and Case Western Reserve School of Law. He was an attorney specializing in estate planning with the Reminger Law Firm until his retirement after 40 years of service. He has also been active in the Community of St. Peters in Cleveland. Bill enjoyed celebrating life with his wife, Barb, of 50 years. He loved to read anything from physics to Harry Potter. Bill had a thirst for learning and debating life's mysteries with his extensive tribe of family and friends. Bill leaves behind his wife, Barbara Valis; son, Kevin (Tara) Valis; grandchildren, Mark (Alex), Michael, Megan, Molly, Lilly, Violet, and Max; great-grandchild, Killian; and sisters-in-law, Jacki (Bob) Lazorik and Marlene (Rob) Lieb. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Ann Lancaster; and parents. A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday May 27, 2017 at The Community of St. Peters, 7100 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Western Reserve Land Conservancy at 3850 Chagrin River Rd., Moreland Hills, OH 44022 in memory of Bill Valis.   4. I was saddened to hear of Bill's death. I was in med school at CWRU when he was in law school at CWRU. Our paths crossed many time since graduating from St Joseph high school. I will always remember him for being so upbeat inspite of personal family tradgedies and his own health issues. He was a great guy. I will miss him.
