Wilbur “Bill” Gibson, age 79, of Thompson, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024. He was born May 17, 1945 in Oberlin, to Leon and Fannie (Norwood) Gibson, and was raised on their farm in Wakeman, Ohio.

Bill served in the US Marine Corp as an Embassy Guard in Bolivia. Bill developed his business, Environmental Technology Corp., which is a national company providing mobile medical testing.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, making and drinking wine. He loved his motorcycle and spending life on “the hill”. He had many accomplishments…including multiple medical certifications, educator license for medical testing, and president of American Legion Post 112 Riders for 7 years. Bill had the gift of hospitality and loved his family and friends dearly.

He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Brian) Hamilton, Jennifer (Mike) Hilliard; daughter-in-law, Stacie Gibson; grandchildren, Billy and Danny Gibson, Nick, Alex and Brooke Hamilton, Easton Hilliard; life partner, Cheryl Curtis, and her children, Dennis (Jacqui) Lundi, Darla Lundi, David (Maureen) Lundi, Daniel Kozlowski, and her grandchildren Jordan, Josh, Connor, Bella, Danielle; He was preceded in death by his son, William “Bill” Gibson; parents, Leon and Fannie; and sister, Helen Emerick.

Friends will be received 6-8pm, Friday, October 11, 2024, at the American Legion Jay Wilson Post 112, 6671 Middle Ridge Road, Madison Ohio 44057.

Private Family Services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Contributions may be made in Bill’s name to the Cleveland VA Fisher House, 10521 Lee Avenue, Cleveland Ohio 44106.
