Vivian Briggs, 88, of Madison, passed away on October 29, 2023 at her home. She was born on July 18, 1935 to Francis and Freda (Kinch) Zachrel in Rouseville, Pennsylvania.
Vivian worked as a secretary at Lakeland Community College, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time in nature. She loved to take walks and go camping with her family. She also collected angels, and detailed collectables made by Belleek.
She is survived by her children, Joyce Smith, Mary Welsh, and Kenneth (Leva) Welsh; grandchildren, Tracy Robinson, Annamarie Hayes, Kimberly, Brandon, Christopher, and Katie Okler, DeLena Painter, Holly, Ryan, Rebecca, Joshua, Steven, and Andrew Welsh; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Tatum, and Kinley Robinson, Natalee, Alaina, Lindsay, Fiona, and Johnny Hayes, Elijah Okler, Abigail and Wyatt Painter, Joseph Reed, Robert, Elijah, Mason, and Parker Welsh, Steven Welsh Jr.
She is preceded in death by her late husbands, Ronald J. Welsh, Larry Briggs, and Jim Schneider; her parents; sisters, Louise Frawley, and Phyllis Hephner; brothers, Arnie, Regis, and Norman Zachrel.
