Virginia Mary Harmon, age 87 of Torrance California, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024. She was born on December 25, 1936 the daugher of the late Elizabeth (nee Turk) and Anton Gersin. Throughout her remarkable life, she shattered barriers and left an indelible mark on those around her. In her early career, Virginia fearlessly navigated the corporate world as a pioneering woman working for the SEC where her determination and keen intellect propelled her to success in a male-dominated industry. Her resilience and tenacity laid the foundation for her future endeavors. For 25+ years Virginia dedicated herself as the steadfast steward overseeing and managing Oakridge Mobile Home Park, a cherished home community park in Sylmar California, that thrived under her leadership. Her passion for connecting with her community and serving others was evident in every aspect of her work. Beyond her professional achievements, Virginia was an accomplished pilot who soared through the skies with grace and skill for decades. Whether navigating her own plane or sharing her love of flight with others, she inspired countless individuals with her adventurous spirit and determination. Virginia’s legacy will endure through the memories she created and the lives she touched. She will be remembered for her fierce independence, unwavering dedication, adventurous soul and profound impact on those who were fortunate to have known her. She is survived by her nieces, DeAnne (Jodie Davies) Aussem, Erin (Joe) Toth; her nephews Ron (Heidi) Gersin, William Ensminger; and her great nieces and nephews, Lochlan and Kenzi Aussem, Logan and Bella Toth, Kallee, Lainey, Abbey and Zander Gersin, and Kaleb Ensminger. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, David Gersin, and Ronnie Gersin, her sister Marianne Hrisko and her sister-in-law, Mary Kay Gersin. A Graveside Service and celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, June 17th, 2024 at Alexander Harper Memorial Cemetery, 2070 South Ridge Road in Unionville OH.
