Virginia M Burgwin

Virginia M. Burgwin, age 84, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Jefferson Health Care in Jefferson, Ohio. She was born February 7, 1929 in Geneva, Ohio to Zana (Thompson) & Max Lee and married Gordon Burgwin in Cumberland, MD on May 8, 1947. Virginia was a past member of First Christian Church in Ashtabula, and an active member of the Ashtabula Senior Center and Blue Bells. She enjoyed crocheting and playing games and card with her friends. She enjoyed traveling and spending Christmas with her sons. She also enjoyed spending time with her sisters and brothers. Virginia lived in Southington, Ohio from 1949 until her husband Gordon passed away in 1992, she then moved to Warren, Ohio. She was a past member of Scope and volunteered in the gift shop at St. Joseph hospital for many years. She is survived by her step daughter, Jean DeMelker of Saybrook, OH; sons, Ralph (Mioma) Burgwin, of King William, VA, Mark (Crystal) Burgwin of Colonial Heights, VA and Lee (Jean) Burgwin of Midlothian, VA; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Richard) Whiteside of York, SC and Mildred Moore of Brookville, FL; brothers, Raymond (Clarice) Lee of Ashtabula, Phillip (Joan) Lee of Conneaut, and sister-in-law Joyce Lee of Saybrook, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Burgwin; her parents; a daughter, Carolyn Burgwin; step daughter Joan Connors and step son, Don Burgwin and brother, Walter Lee.. Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday June 4, 2013 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Christine Bell of First United Methodist Church of Ashtabula officiating. Final Resting Place will be at Trumbull Center Cemetery on Rt. 534 in Trumbull Township.
