Virginia J. Hitchcock- Mumea, age 95 of Madison, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Heartland of Mentor. Born June 15, 1918 in Willoughby, she was the daughter of Amie R. (Sprague) & William R. Jenkins. She married Nicholas Mumea on September 4, 2002. Virginia was a caregiver for the elderly. She was an active member of Here's Hope Baptist Church. Virginia loved gardening and taking care of her flowers. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Zola of Mentor; sons, Richard L. Williams of Andover, William Williams of Painesville, David K. (Holly) Hitchcock of Shaker Heights; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Delores Globic of Willoughby Hills, Charlene (Robert) Sours of Madisonville, TN; brother, Charles Jenkins of Madison; sisters, Charlotte Conger of Willoughby, Leonora Damm of Mentor, Genevieve Hounshell of Mentor, Amie Bregitzer of Mentor-on-the-Lake. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Dillard K. Hitchcock, 2nd husband, Nicholas Mumea; daughter, Charmaine Cefaratti; sister, Iva Egleston; brothers, Alfred, Robert & Earl Jenkins. Friends will be received 6-8 PM, Friday, May 30, 2014, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057.
