Virginia "Ginny" Popp

Virginia "Ginny" Popp, age 87, of Perry, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 05, 2015 at Rae- Ann Geneva while surrounded by her loved ones. She was born April 14, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Roy Harold and Lucy (nee Cover) Cole. Ginny married Louis Popp in Thompson on June 24, 1950.
Ginny graduated Thompson High School and went to Kent State University to become a teacher. She was a teacher at Perry Elementary for 30 years and dearly loved her career and her studentsand her students loved her, even today, she is still invited to all the weddings, showers, and graduations. Everybody that knew Ginny loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Louis Popp; daughters, Judith A. Popp and Patricia L. (Mark) Quayle; grandchildren, Shannon L. (Chris) Wilson, Leslie A. Turner, Christy D. Starkweather, Tanya Underwood, Mark Quayle II, Katelyn Quayle; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Francis Griffin; brothers, Roy, Harold (Barbara), Cole, Jr.; many loved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Ferguson and Doris Dodge; brothers, James and Frank Cole; grandsons, Raymond, William and Christopher.
Friends will be received 11am 1pm Tuesday, Nov.10, 2015 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison. Funeral service will follow at 1pm. Ginny's grandson, Shannon Wilson, will be officiating. Final Resting Place is Perry Cemetery in Perry, Ohio.
