Vint Jon "Chip" Chapman
February 16, 1960 ~ September 30, 2017
On September 30th, 2017, Vint Jon Chapman Chip was called home to heaven. Chip was born in Painesville, Ohio on Feb. 16th, 1960. He was the son of Linda Fisher Stevens and Paul Chapman. He grew up in North Madison and was an Alumni of Madison High School, class of 1978. Chip was employed by Acousti, as a commercial construction supervisor. As an adolescent, Chip was a member of the Boots and Saddle club where he won many ribbons and trophies in barrel racing. He also had an affinity for anything with an engine that started at a young age and continued throughout his entire life. He loved motorcycles and classic muscle cars, his favorite car being the 1969 Barracuda. In 2004, Chip was named National Champion in the sport of hydro boat racing, which was one of his all time favorite hobbies. He also played the bass guitar and was in a small band for a short time.
Chip is preceded in death by Mother; Linda Stevens, and Jon Grant. Maternal Grandparents; Bud and Betty Fisher. Paternal Grandparents; Donald and Edith Chapman. Best Friends; Greg Holbrook and Walter Schlipf Jr.
Chip is survived by his loving wife, Becky (Bukky) Chapman. Daughter; Stacie Chapman-Granados (Arthur). Father; Paul Chapman (Barbara). Stepfather; Ed Stevens. Stepmother; Pom Grant. Brothers; Jerry Chapman (Val) and Brett Chapman (Heike). Sisters; Carrie Chapman and Jan Thomas. Stepsisters; Nona McGuire, Nancy Campbell, and Vickie Wild. Stepbrothers; Ed, Terry and Bob Stevens, David Grant. Grandsons; Michael, Elijah and Alexander Knapp. Dog sons; Cappy and Baron. Nephews; Chase (Lamarre) Chapman, and Daniel Chapman. Nieces; Casey Chapman, Lauren and Nicole Thomas, Bridget Clough. Many Uncles, Aunts and friends.
Friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison, Ohio. Funeral Service will take place at 12 Noon on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Perry Township Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of Chip’s passing. We raced against each other many times and I always enjoyed his company. My condolences go out to his family, and we will keep you All in our prayers.
