Victor J. Fisher, age 82, longtime resident of Madison passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing Home. Victor was born on July 3, 1931 in Latvia to Anete K. (Laundinskis) and Julius Fisher . He married Josephine F. Sciarinno in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on July 5, 1952. Victor immigrated to the U.S. as a teenager. He was employed and retired with General Electric, Tungsten Plant. After retirement he worked at Jones & Laughlin Steel Company. Victor was a Charter Boat Captain on Lake Erie and loved to fish and take clients and friends on fishing charters. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go deer hunting. Victor loved animals, especially his dog, Prince. He loved and enjoyed ethnic foods. Mr. Fisher is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Josephine F. Fisher; sons, David (Rose) Fisher of Madison and Dennis J. Fisher of Euclid; grandchildren, David (Lisa) Fisher, Joseph (Courtney) Fisher, Kate Fisher and John Fisher; 10 great grandchildren; loving sister, Ruth Puris of Parma; a niece and nephews; and cousins from Cincinnati and Latvia. He was preceeded in death by his parents; his grandson, Vincent A. Fisher; and his sister Judy Gerlica. Friends will be received from 5 to 8:00 pm., Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio 44057. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, East Central Division, 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
