Vernon "Ronny" Blair Lightner, age 81, of Perry, Ohio passed away Friday, March 04, 2016 at home. He was born December 12, 1934 in Blandburg, Pennsylvania, the son of George Lightner and Ada (Beers) Lightner. He married Marie Evelyn Pettis in Tampa, Florida on April 19, 1957. Vernon was an Airforce Veteran who served in the Korean War. He worked as a steel worker at Republic Steel/LTV in Cleveland. He was also a member of The Salvation Army in Painesville. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie; children, Ron (Karla) Lightner, Sharon (Clyde) Blevins, Karen (Tim) Arp, Brian (Emily) Lightner; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dennis Lightner, Alfred "Butch" Lightner, Arthur "Oss" (Joyce) Lightner, Gloria Burris, Shelby (Tom) Story. He is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Wendy; his parents, siblings, Rex Lightner, Charles Edward "Mike" (Debrah) Lightner, and Harold "Chip" (Jean) Lightner. Friends will be received 3 - 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio with a Funeral Service immediately following at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army, 69 Pearl Street, Painesville, OH 44077 or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110 Friends may leave condolences online at www.behmfuneral.com
