Thomas E. Mitchell, 79, of Madison passed away at home Sunday May 21, 2017. He was born Sept. 17, 1937 and joins his loving parents, Arthur and Bess (Cray) Mitchell. Tom married Joanne Pierfelice in 1959 and together started a family. Tom graduated from Madison High School in 1955. He studied chemistry at OSU and attended Max Hays Trade School in Cleveland, Lincoln Electric Welding School, Euclid, and Stationary Engineer School in Painesville. Tom was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18 for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joanne; children Thomas A. (Kathryn "Kay") Mitchell, Mark A. Mitchell, David A. Mitchell, Mary Jo (Daniel) Riddell; granddaughters, Isla and Ailsa. Tom is preceded in death by his daughter Ann Marie and his parents. Friends may call 4-8pm Wednesday May 24, 2017 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison OH 44057. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Father Sean Donnelly at 11am Thursday May 25, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2846 Hubbard Rd., Madison OH 44057.
