Thayer R. " Bud" Anderson Age 84 Resident of Perry Passed away Friday, October 31, 2008 Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Madison Born October 13, 1924 in Painesville, Ohio, to Anna M. (Sessler) & Henry D. Anderson Married Florence Lefelhoc on June 17, 1947 at St. Anthony?s in Fairport. He worked at Diamond Alkali/Shamrock from 1946 until it closed in 1976. He then worked as an Instrument Technician for Gould and TRW until his retirement in 1989. Following graduation from Harvey High School in 1943, he immediately enlisted in the US Navy. He initially served on a Yard Patrol craft in Norfolk, VA where he supported Convoy operations into Europe. Bud later served on LST 875 where he provided vital supplies for the Okinawa campaign. He was a member of St. Cyprian Church in Perry. Bud always had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed working outdoors and loved to dance. He is survived by 6 Children, Greg (Debbie) Anderson of Madison Tom (Donna) Anderson of Perry Lisa (Joel) Weissfeld of Pittsburg, PA Meg Anderson of Perry Linda Anderson of Perry Steve Anderson of Washington, DC 6 Grandchildren, Charles Anderson Andy and Ari Weissfeld Jason (Jennifer) Babic & Jessica Babic Christina (Curt) Svagerko and 7 Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Ann Johnson of Willoughby, Margaret Hille of Leroy and JoAnn Pollock of Madison. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, his parents, sisters Sylvia, Bernice, Betty and his brother Hank. Friends will be received 5-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2008 at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at St. Cyprian's Catholic Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry. Rev. George Kusy will be officiating. Final Resting Place will be at Perry Cemetery in Perry. Contributions may be made to St. Cyprian?s Catholic Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry, OH 44081.
