Terezija Zupancic

Terezija Zupancic, age 91, of Perry, OH passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the David Simpson Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Slovenia on March 16, 1924 to Frank and Terezija Boznar. Terezija married the love of her life Leopold Zupanic on June 12, 1946 in Austria.
Mrs. Zupancic was a member of St. Cyprian Catholic Church and the Pensioneer Club- Slovenska Pristava. She enjoyed catering many dinners at the Slovenian Home in Cleveland. Terezija loved tending to her beautiful garden and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Anne Young, Theresa (Bill) Lewis, Leo Zupancic, Cecilia Zupancic and Stan Zupancic; grandchildren, Greg (Christine) and Mark (Angel) Young, Tracy (Patrick) Stevenson and Michelle (Nathan) Bishop, Jacqueline (Mike Morosko) Lewis, Megan and Joel Zupancic, Angela (Greg) Costello and Ryan Zupancic; and great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Millie and Harper, William and Jason, Emmalene, Elias and Simon, Gianna, Justin and Maya.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son-in-law, Michael Young.
Calling hours will be held, Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Fr. George Kusy on Friday, February 5 at 10 AM at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Rd., Perry, Ohio, 44081. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.

Mat, your garden was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen! You introduced me to food I'd never heard of before. You treated me like a daughter and your face lit up whenever you were around your children. You showed them what a mother's love looks and feels like. I hope you and Ata are dancing in Heaven. My condolences to the family. I remember how your mom's eyes would light up upon greeting each person. She always made one feel right at home. It was an honor and great pleasure knowing her for the few years I was able to spend with her.. Many thanks to the family for treating me as one of their own. Introducing many new types of foods and the grandness of a large loving family. Your mom will be greatly missed.
