Suzanne M. Novak

I would like to share a few more memories of Suzanne, my sister. Growing up she loved fashion and theater. She had the lead in the play Enter Laughing and performed in My Fair Lady. She worked at the Dinner Bell restaurant and used her income to buy beautiful clothes, gorgeous wool skirts and sweaters that as the youngest sister , I admired. She had many friends and loved to dance and sing! She attended Lakeland Community College for one year and then continued on later in life to study psychology. Once married she went on to have two children, the first grand child Natalie and then Priscilla. Oh, how we loved them! She continued through life supporting Andy through his religious studies. She worked as a Travel Agent and was so excited to travel to Italy and learn about and see the Art that she had so admired! She bought a cameo there which fit into her love of beautiful jewelry which endured throughout her life . A few years ago she created watercolor paintings of the home where we grew up, on Newell St in Painesville. Such fond memories there!!! Suzanne also loved ceramics and created many beautiful pieces to share. My sister was not only kind and loving to her immediate family, but her nieces, Nicole (Markey) Armstrong, Allison (Markey ) Dragolich, Sophia Whitehouse And Annaka Whitehouse, And nephew Steven Markey., as well as all of her great nieces and nephews! Ok, I’ll name them … Nick, Nate and Jake Armstrong, Mitch And Julie Morse And Frankie Dragolich And Zoe And Zachary Snyder(Whitehouse)! What wonderful times we had watching them grow up and participating in their activities! Her generosity and kind heart extended to others as well through Christ Child Society, making charitable donations, helping friends and family in need and volunteering. Suzanne loved and appreciated her Finnish upbringing. We had the unique opportunity to attend the dedication of the sculpture in front of the Fairport Finnish Museum. And we even got to meet the artist and snack on our favorite Finnish sweetbread, Nisu! With our shared love of everything Fashion, we both became hooked on QVC and even traveled to their studio in West Chester PA! Woo hoo! I have so many wonderful memories that I can’t include them all here. But please know that she had many special gifts and always strived to enrich her life with love and learning! Love, Lynne

I am so broken-hearted about the loss of my sister, Suzie. Suzanne's passing has left a hole in my heart that will never go away. I also wanted to mention that she was so proud of her Finnish heritage and loved to be around the table with family eating Paappa's freshly-baked Nisu and having coffee. Her greatest love was her family. She also enjoyed going out with the “Grand River Gang” once a month to catch up with childhood and lifelong friends. I am heart-broken and sad. I first met Suzanne when we were in 7th grade at JRW junior high school. She and I were in the same homeroom because our last name started with an “H”. She always seemed to be smiling and happy. So many footballs games and dances I'm remembering. I don't ever remember anyone saying an unkind word about her. I know she will be in paradise waiting for all her family and friends….and that makes me happy. You were a good friend!
