Susan Virginia Jahn Tucker
May 17, 1938 ~ August 30, 2014
Susan Virginia Jahn Tucker, born 27 May 1938, was re-united with her beloved grandmother and grandson in heaven and entered into the presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ on Saturday, 30 August 2014.
Sue, as she was affectionately known, was born and raised in Geneva OH. She lived and worked for the majority of her life in her beloved city where she raised five children. As a schoolteacher for many years, Sue taught in the Geneva City School system. She retired from teaching and could be found volunteering all over the state of Ohio, visiting veterans of wars, in nursing homes, hospitals and at special veteran events.
As a member of New Life Assembly Church, Sue was known on several occasions to walk the distance from her home on South Broadway to the church in the snow and rain just to praise the Lord with fellow church members. She loved being a part of the Body of Christ and participated fully in several church homes over the course of her life.
Sue always loved a parade and marched in many Grape Jamboree parades, Memorial Day Parades, Veteran's Day parades and countless other parades across the state, representing different organizations she belonged to and participated in.
She is survived by her children; Becky B. Goodwin (Tim) of Mount Dora, FL., Teri B. Morris of Charlotte NC, Joe E. Brigden of Asheville, NC, Chris G. Poling of Ashtabula, OH and Kathy P. Inman (Brian) of Pierpont, OH: twelve grandchildren; Angela G. Fobes (Chris), Amy G. Balliet, (Glen), Joshua A. Goodwin, (Jennifer), all of FL, Lindsey M. Harrison (Xavier), Seth R. Morris (Kelly), Joey D. Brigden, Phillip M. Brigden, all of NC, Thomas R. Poling, David C. Poling, (Nikki), Corey W. Wiser, Sara M. Wiser Inman (Mike Taylor) and Taylor D. Inman, all of OH; twenty great grandchildren; a brother, Evan F. Jahn (Charlotte), a niece, Lisa M. Spade (Bill), and two nephews, Evan F. Jahn, Jr. (Kerri) and Adam J. Jahn (Michelle) all of OH. Sue is predeceased by her parents, Fred and Betty Jahn, her beloved grandmother, Bessie Spies and a treasured grandson, Aaron J. Morris.
There were many people who loved Sue throughout her life, but none as loving and caring as the staff at Austinburg Rehab and Nursing Center. These selfless and giving ladies adopted Sue as their own and were devoted to her over the past two years. Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude and thanks for being Sue's "extended family." She loved you all very much.
Friends will be received 10 AM-12 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041. A funeral service will follow at 12 pm. Final resting place will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva.
In her memory, the family suggests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, www.woundedwarriorproject.org or to New Life Assembly Church, 1961 Lafevere Road, Geneva Ohio, 44041.
If Sue touched your life in any way and you would like to do something special to show that, visit a veteran today and thank him or her for their service or volunteer in a classroom and read a story to children in her memory.
