Stephen Bane

Stephen Bane, Age 45, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Sunday September 16, 2018 at Cleveland Clinic after a lengthy illness. He was born October 28, 1972 at Plattsburgh, Air Force Base in New York the son of James and Barbara (King) Bane.
Stephen was a graduate of Ashtabula High School and took classes at Kent State University in Ashtabula. Stephens passion was collecting old Volkswagens. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and wine making. He worked in retail management, for many years as the manager of Get-Go in Madison and also a co-manager of Giant Eagle in Madison. Stephen had a good heart and he always went the extra mile to help others. He enjoyed time spent with his daughter Ellie.
He is survived by his parents; James and Barbara Ann Bane of Ashtabula; daughter, Ellie Rose Bane of Geneva; Brother, Bryan Lee Bane of Ashtabula; paternal grandfather; Norman Bane age 99 of Ashtabula; maternal grandmother Barbara King of Middlefield; aunts, Gail Ann (Chuck) Jaite of Middlefield, Katrina (Dr. William) Braden of Rootstown, Michelle King Swartz of Bainbridge and Betty Kelly King of Mentor; uncle, David Westover of Ashtabula; former wife, Kristen Bane of Geneva; dear friend, Michele Campbell of Ashtabula; cousins, Laurie Davis, David (Cynthia) Westover, Elizabeth Braden and Michael Swartz.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Myrle Bane, maternal grandfather, Gail King; uncle Joseph King; and aunt, Doris Westover.
Private family services will be observed at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio 44057.

Barb, Jim and Brian, There are no words to express the depth of sadness felt at Steve's passing. We will remember all of the good times and fun we had traveling and being together. He is peacefully resting in the arms of Jesus now and we will see him again.
Our hearts go out to you, Barb and Jim, and all Steve's relatives and friends. Far too young to leave this life, but pain free at last. Hugs to you.
