Shirley Shepherd

Shirley Shepherd, age 61, of Madison, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sylvia NC, April 19, 1963 to Robert and Jean Moore.

At a young age she grew to love the mountains and outdoors. She spent her high school years at Webster Golden Eagle High School. After high school, Shirley pursued a career in nursing but quickly put her passion aside to become a wife to her lifelong partner, Joe Shepherd, and become a loving mother to her four children.

In her free time, she enjoyed literature, gardening and occasionally knitting a blanket or two. Shirley went above and beyond in the craft of maintaining a loving environment for her family.

Shirley was proceeded in death by her loving husband Joseph Steven Shepherd, and her parents, Robert and Jean Moore.

She is survived by her loving children, James Houston (Crystal), Cody Shepherd (Chelsie), Amanda Shepherd, Stephanie Shepherd (Dvoun James), as well as her beloved granddaughter, Alexis Shepherd along with many, many other grandchildren. She is also survived by her older brother, William Breault.

Our family will forever cherish her memory and her extraordinary gift for nurturing, will live on in our hearts.
