Shirley Louise Washburn

Shirley Louise Washburn, age 81 of Geneva-on-the-Lake, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born December 19, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Louise & William Sample. Shirley worked 20 years as a nurse before retiring and moving to Geneva-on-the-Lake. She then worked for Pera & Pera until age 62. She is survived by her husband, John Washburn; daughters, Sheree Schmies, Debbee (Ronnie) Keeton; grandchildren, Amber (James) Smith, Shaun Schmies, Kendra Schmies, Sara (Roger) Shaw, Justin (Mallory) Shaw; 3 step-grandchildren along with 7 great-grandchildren & 3 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Harold Trehan; her parents & brother, David Sample. Private family services will be observed.
