Shirley J. Snyder

Shirley J. Snyder, age 87, of Madison passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022 at the Lantern of Madison.  She was born on March 27, 1934 in Denmark Twp. Ohio to Mary (Fink) and Vern Housel.  She married Charles Snyder on February 5, 1953 and they were blessed to spend 67 wonderful years together. Shirley was a 1952 graduate of Pierpont High School. She was a homemaker and proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.  She enjoyed traveling, camping and time spent with her family.  Shirley was a member of Madison Park United Methodist Church. Shirley leaves behind her daughter Denise (Brian) Lewis; sons, Maurice “Reese” (Susie) Snyder, and Neil (Julie) Snyder; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Roger (Karen) Snyder; childhood friend, Patricia Papuga; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2020; parents; infant son, Rex; brother, Lloyd Housel; sisters, Joyce Harrison, Elaine Sundman, and Patricia Doerr. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday March 30, 2022 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. Madison, Ohio.  Funeral Service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.  Final Resting place will be at Pierpont Cemetery.
