Shirden J. Hurst, Age 79, Resident of Perry, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 Rae Ann Nursing Home in Geneva, Ohio. Born December 4, 1931 in Harrison County, WV to Bula (Thompson) & John O. Hurst, he married Rose ?Jo? Elles in Perry, Ohio on June 1, 1957. He was a certified welder/fitter at W.S. Tyler Company in Mentor, Ohio, for 23 years and. also was employed by Painesville City Building & Grounds until he retired. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War and was a life member of the AMVETS Post #1971. He loved spending time with his family and the outdoors. He is survived by Daughter, Terry Mullin of Perry, Ohio; Sons, Philip (Betty) Smith of Madison & ?JR? Gary (Debra) Hurst of Geneva; 11 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; Brothers, James Hurst of WV & John Hurst of WV; Sister, Nancy Oxier of Newark, OH & Many nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his wife, ?Jo? Rose V. Hurst; Parents; Son-in-Law, Larry Mullin; Brother, Jack Hurst; Sister, Omie Randolph Friends will be received 2-4:00 pm Sunday, December 12, 2010, at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Monday, December 13, 2010 at the funeral home. Final Resting Place will be at Perry Cemetery in Perry.
