Shawn J. Brooks

Shawn J. (Tex) Brooks, age 62 has gone home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on April 8, 2024. He was born in 1961 in San Antonio,Texas to Gloria Keller and John Brooks. He later moved to Houston, TX where he attended North Shore High School. He worked for a brief time on the offshore oil rigs and then served in the Marine Corps. In 1988 he came to Ohio to visit his sister, Shelia Warner and never left. He was employed by Plants R Us and most recently by O’Neill Excavating. Tex was a Lifelong NASCAR fan often attending races in person and was an excellent BBQ Chef. He always had a smile on his face and a friendly and kind word for all. He shall be missed by all who new him. He is survived by his Life Partner, Martha Curd; brother, Scott Brooks; niece, Sabrina Brooks, other loved family members, Curtis Curd, Brandon Wallis, Christopher Curd and Elizabeth Galley. His favorite role was that of G’paw to Hunter Curd, Ethan Galley and Addison Curd. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Tyler; father, John Brooks; brother, Shannon Brooks; sister, Shelia Warner; and step father Charles Brooks. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Sub Zero Missions in Painesville, OH. Friends will be received, 2-4 pm Sunday April 14th at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison.
