Sharon Kay Stephens, age 77 of Warren, Ohio, passed away Tuesday evening, September 15, 2026 at St. Joseph Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 8, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of J Gordon and Virginia May (Toner) Rickel.

She worked for over 35 years at the Mentor post office. After retirement, Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and telling stories of her family history. She adored her 2 pups Gidget and Goldie, her cat Ginger and her blue macaw Scully. Sharon loved crossword puzzles was known for her witt and great sense of humor. She was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, Sharon and Tim never missed watching a game.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Timothy; daughters, Jody (Ralph) Simmons and Jennifer (Angie) Stephens; grandchildren, James Stephens, Tayler Daniels, Jeremy Kelly, Raven Wright, Jessica Kelly, Shelby Stephens, Lynn Kelly, and Jenna Kelly; and great grand children, Stevie Stephens and Ashton Kelly.

Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Shaun Stephens and her parents.

Private Family Services will be held. Final Resting Place will be Fairview Cemetery in Madison.

  4. I’ll miss you so much grandma, I know you’re at peace now. We will meet again another day. Until then, Uncle Tim can give you hugs from me. I’m happy you’re no longer in pain. And I wish you could have stayed longer, but that’s just me being selfish. I love you so much, until we meet again.

  5. Losing you is something I never wanted to imagine. You were more than just my grandmother; you were a source of love, comfort, wisdom, and so many memories that I will carry with me forever.

    I will always cherish the time we shared, the conversations, the laughter, and all the little moments that made having you in my life so special. Your love helped shape the person I am today, and I will forever be grateful that I got to call you my Grandmother.

    Although my heart hurts knowing you are no longer here, I’m finding comfort in knowing that your love will never leave me. I will carry your memory with me in everything I do and tell the stories of you for years to come.

  6. Grandma, I love you, miss you, and think of you always. Especially when I see sunflowers, listen to the Beach Boys, and see a goofy donkey pictures. You were an amazing grandma and an amazing woman and someone I’m proud to have had as a mentor and role model in my life. This isn’t goodbye but see you later.
