Sara Jane Stephens, age 96, of Madison, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023. She was born February 9, 1927 to the late John and Martha (Beach) Hart in Rockland, Pennsylvania. In 1954, she married Arthur Stephens of Franklin, PA. They moved to Youngstown, where they were in the sewing machine and restaurant china business. In 1963, they moved to Cleveland where Sara worked for 43+ years as a Leasing Consultant, retiring at the age of 80 to care for her ill husband. They were married for 53 years. Sara loved traveling, bowling, doing crafts and tending to her flowers and gardening. She is survived by her only beloved daughter, Victoria Crum; grandchildren, Connie (James) Kiper, Ronald Crum and Stephen (Shannon) Crum; great-grandchildren, Michael (Kristen) Crum, Melissa (Drew) Pasquale, Christopher Crum, Alex Crum, Haley Crum and Bryan (Nicole) Kiper, and Megan (Chris) Rasch; 11 great-great grandchildren; and is survived by her 99 year old sister, Etta Jean Mahle and dear family friend Diane Plummer. Sara was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Arthur Stephens; 3 brothers; 8 sisters, two darling grandchildren, Michael, age 4 and Kimberly Crum, 18 months who perished in a house fire in 1968. Friends will be received from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. A Funeral Service will take place at 11 am on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the funeral home where the family will receive guests for 1 hour prior to the service. Final Resting place will be Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland, Ohio.
