August 18, 1944 ~ January 13, 2016
Samantha Louise Rauth, age 71, of Painesville passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at her home while surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 18, 1944 in Painesville to Irma F. (Redetzke) and Rev. Frank W. Huetter.
Samantha was a 1962 graduate of Madison High School and a 1967 graduate of Kent State University. She enjoyed hiking, biking, kayaking and travelling with friends. A joy to all she met, there was never a more loyal friend than Sam.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sandy Evans Adler.

THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME of Madison is assisting the family.
Sam was always such a character. We went to Homer Nash Kimball then on through Jr and Sr High School together. She had one of the most engaging personalities, just fun to be around. You will be missed by many Sam. I'm so glad we could spend some time together the past few years at our mini-reunions. RIP.
Oh Sam, I will miss just knowing you were around. Rest in Peace.
Will miss you Sam. Loved to sit with you at the Reuions. Had alot of fun and laughs. I know the Angles are smiling and will be waiting for you with open arms.
I can't even express how much I miss you already. We were pals for over 20 years, through good times and tough times. It was impossible to be in a bad mood around you. Your compassion and humor always made everything better.Love you always.
Sam was special and those of us who were lucky enough to call her friend are better off for having known her. We got to spend time with Sam one day a few months ago, and she was positive, and matter of fact about the situation. She talked about wanting to visit Cuba, so I'm going to go there to honor her wish to see it. I'll tell her all about it. The good ones are always gone too soon, miss you, Sam. And for friends of Sam who don't know me, I posted a bunch of pictures of Sam on Facebook. I can email them to anyone who wants some.
Memories of Sam are so many it would be hard to make a full list but here are a few that I know others share as well: The Enclave on the weekends with John Henry and the other pups. Discussion of glycol nutrients. Cross Country skiing with Anne… and hearing Sam share her love of hills. Bicycling with Anne and Sam and again listening to just how much Sam enjoyed the hills. Clambakes. Pool Parties. Cats. Dogs. Knowing that any time you needed a hand with anything you didn't even have to ask, she would just be there. Life is good! We spent a lot of time talking about life on the 'other side' at group and her insistence that she just couldn't 'do it. Well now she is on the other side and we know she will get it now and be able to keep in touch.. Looking forward to hearing you once again say, Hey Barb – This is Sam!
My condolences. Sam was my friend and neighbor.
Sam was a classmate at Madison High. We attended Kent State and roomed together one year. We traveled back and forth from Madison to Kent many, many times. She was quite a character and always was ready for a little fun. We sparred by email often about politics, but I always considered her a dear friend. I was shocked to hear of her death. Rest in peace and know you were loved by many.
Sammy first came into our lives almost 35 years ago when she first met Nancy. We travelled, skied, hiked, canoed and laughed together. Her laugh was infectious, and her irreverent take on politics and religion was refreshing. We hope her energy will continue as she enters the next phase of her journey. You will always be in our hearts, Sammy. Thanks, Mary, for all your help at the end. Sammy often spoke of you, and although we've never met, we know you were a special person in Sammy's life.
