Ruth J. Brewster

Ruth J. Brewster, age 89, of Madison, Ohio, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing home in Madison. She was born on July 22, 1926 in St. George, WV to Virgie (Ludwick) and O. Luther Shaffer. Ruth married Churchill "Shorty" Brewster on December 24, 1942 in Perry, OH. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Perry, retired from Perry schools, loved crafts, sewing and especially quilting. Ruth is survived by her children, Valerie Williams, Molly (Keith) Brainard, Larry Brewster, Melvin Brewster, Clyde (Kathy) Brewster, Dollie (David) Seese, Marvin (Amy) Brewster, Clifford Brewster; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Omar Shaffer; sisters, Evelyn Garner, Delsey Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Churchill, her parents, and brother, Jerry Shaffer. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm, Monday, September 28, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, 3918 Main Street, Perry, OH 44081. Funeral Service will be held the next day at the church, 11 am Tuesday, September 29, 2015 with Pastor Michael Cole officiating.
