Ruth A. Dickinson

Ruth A. Dickinson, age 93, passed away Thursday, July 09, 2015 at Emeritus at Newell Creek in Mentor, OH. She was born August 1, 1921 in York, PA to Alice Anne (nee Sollenberger) and Sterling Arthur Eyler. Ruth married Don M. Dickinson in York, PA on April 24, 1943. Ruth graduated from her home town high school in North York in 1939. She held various jobs until she became a housewife and mother. Ruth was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church in North York, PA. She enjoyed the outdoors and did a lot of cross-country skiing and hiking with Don. Ruth enjoyed reading and traveling the United States. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be dearly missed. She is survived by her son Jim Dickinson of Painesville, OH; grandson, Ryan (Robyn) Dickinson of Painesville; great-granddaughters, Alyson, Emily, and Aubrey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Don; brothers, Ken and Harry; and sister, Kathryn. A Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 700 West George Street, York, PA. Pastor Bob Vizthum of the Messiah United Methodist Church will be officiating. The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057 is assisting Ruth's family at this time of need.
