Russel Starkey
March 17, 1934 ~ July 22, 2023
Russel Starkey, age 89, passed away Saturday evening, July 22, 2023. He was born March 17, 1934 in Unionville, Ohio the son of Marilla (Pierce) and Ralph Starkey. Russel married Janice Perkins on June 5, 1954, and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage before her passing in 2021.
Russel is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Amy) and Douglas (Marsha) Starkey; grandchildren, Lindsay (Mike Roberto) Starkey, Lauren (Shane) McKenna, Anthony (Leslie) Starkey and Katelyn (Kevin) Strauser; great-grandchildren, Barrett, Cayden, Mae, Delphia, Wyatt, Colton and Sophia; sister, Vonnie Ickes. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice; and an infant son, Russel Gene Starkey Jr. parents; brother, Charlie Starkey; sister-in-law, Cindy Starkey.
Russel was a member of Geneva United Methodist Church and a life-time member of the Carpenters Union 435. He was involved with Scouting and served as an assistant Scout Master. He loved golfing, bowling, mowing the lawn and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He was an American Red Cross “Hall of Famer”, donating over 35 gallons of blood. He also enjoyed to travel to St. Augustine as well as camping at Hide-A-Way Lake.

Friends will be received 5-8 pm Thursday, July 27th, 2023 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 175, South Broadway in Geneva. Service will be 11 am Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Our whole family was saddened by your loss. So much love, hugs and prayers are sent your way. He was a remarkable person.
