Roy K. Elliott, Age 89, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008 Ashtabula County Medical Center Born July 30, 1919 in Willoughby, Ohio, to Martha (Lindley) & Clayton Elliott. He married Jonnie Lahti in Fairport Harbor, Ohio on 5/22/1948. Roy worked in the banking industry for 35 years. He started at the old Citizen?s Bank of Madison in late 1945 and retired from Society Bank in 1981. He moved to Ashtabula in 1986. Roy graduated from Madison Memorial High School in 1938. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from August 1941 to October 1945 in the Pacific Theatre. He was a life member of American Legion Jay Wilson post #112. Roy enjoyed all sports, especially golf and table tennis. He played softball with the Madison Merchants League for several years. He served on the board of the Madison YMCA for over 20 years and was Citizen of the Year in 1968 and was active with the Community Fund of Lake County for many years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison for many years prior to moving to Ashtabula where he joined Bethany Lutheran Church. He is survived by Wife: Jonnie (Lahti) Elliott of Ashtabula; Children, Frank (Mary Ellen) Elliott of Richfield, MN, Alan (Jeannie Hunt) Elliott of Jumping Branch, WV, Roy M. (Catherine) Elliott of Ashtabula and Elizabeth (Jackson) Wright of Powell, TN; 7 Grandchildren, Roy M. (Janelle) Elliott, Jr. of California; Ian Elliott of Ashtabula; Mary Elliott of Ashtabula; Richard Elliott of Painesville; Kerri Sue Elliott of Mentor, Jennifer & Jacqueline Wright of Powell, TN; Sister-in-Law, Ursula Elliott and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents 2 Brothers Frank & James Elliott 2 Sisters Ethelyn Schiring & Mildred Bush; 2 Nephews Earl Schiring & David Elliott Friends will be received 11:00 a.m. ? noon, Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 933 Michigan Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio. Memorial Service will be held at noon, Thursday, August 21 at the church. Pastor Karen Tews will be officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Fairview Cemetery in Madison, Ohio. Contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 933 Michigan Avenue, Ashtabula, OH 44004. Arrangements are being handled by The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio.
