Ronald E. Petersen

Ronald E. Petersen passed away December 2, 2011 at LakeMed Nursing Home in Painesville. . He was born on July 20, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Nellie (Millhollin) and Carl Petersen. Ron spent his childhood in Chicago and after graduating high school served one year in the US Army. He then married BetteAnn Taylor in Ayer, Massachusetts and went off to college where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. Subsequently he received a Master of Sacred Theology from Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Centre, Massachusetts. He served over 30 years as pastor of several churches including Central Congregational Church in Madison and Hartsgrove Community Church. After retiring Ron became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison. Ron enjoyed gardening, reading, and model railroading. He was a member of the Madison Ministerial Association and enjoyed volunteering where he could within his church and community. He is survived by his daughter Melissa (Steven) Lendvay of Painesville Township and their children Olivia and Paige Lendvay, his son Michael Petersen and his children Sarah, Megan and Michael. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10, at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church at 6345 Chapel Road, Madison, Ohio with Pastor Steve Fisher officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Madison Food Center at 1954 Hubbard Road, Madison, Ohio 44057.
