Robert P. Kara, Jr. age 54, passed away August 27, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by family. He was born September 27, 1962 in Brownsville, PA to Robert Paul Kara Sr. and MaryAnn (Kolycheck) Kara. He married Lorie Lea Lake on June 21, 1986 in Perryopolis, PA. Robert worked as a Tig Operator at Lincoln Electric. He was a member of Park Street Christian Church in Geneva, Ohio and served on the board of elders and board of trustees. Robert had many interests that he thoroughly enjoyed including selling grape pies at the Grape Jamboree every year, collecting coins of all types, smashing pennies and was an avid fish tank enthusiast. Robert also enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader as well as being a big Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. He enjoyed simple things in life like chocolate ice cream from DQ, Blackberry pie and chocolate chip cookies. He also had a big heart for animals especially his pets Gypsy, Mocha, Odie, Mischief, Pevo and Clyde, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Robert leaves behind his loving wife, Lorie; daughters Ashley R. (Kenneth) Holcomb of Madison and Amber R. Kara; his son Robert P. Kara III of Westlake; a grand-daughter MacKenzie Mae Holcomb; sister, Susan (Jamey) DeCarlo, of Brownsville, Pa; and 2 step-sisters, Cherie Pursglove and Linda Cassell. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A memorial service for Robert will be held at Park Street Christian Church, 97 Park St, Geneva, Ohio, on Thursday August 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. Luncheon to follow. The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. Madison, OH 44057 is assisting the family at this time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Park Street Christian Church or his family. I have the fondest memories of 1970-era summer vacations in “Hiller patch” playing games, watching WWWF wrestling and Lost in Space, and hanging out with Susan and Bobby and their grandparents. Wonderful times, wonderful people, wonderful memories.

I know that in the next few months it will be very difficult however, he is now resting and watching over his family, With the up coming birth of his new grandchild.
