Robert L. Swanson

Robert L. Swanson age 60 a resident of Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at his home after his battle with lung cancer. Born October 21, 1946 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Lillian (Whitlock) & Elmer Swanson. Married Valarie Froncek on December 6, 1969. A 1964 graduate with honors of McKeesport High School. Served in Vietnam as a Lance Corporal of the Marine Corps and received the Purple Heart Award. He was retired from Ohio Job & Family Services in 2002. At the time of death, he was an Ashtabula County Commissioner on the Veteran?s Service Commission. He loved his family and friends. His hobbies were fast cars, golf & tropical fish. He was still active with the local DAV and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 231 and belongs to VFW and Am Vets. He is survived by His Wife Valarie Swanson of Geneva-on-the-Lake; Son Michael Swanson of Geneva-on-the-Lake; Daughter Lori Whipple of Cuyahoga Falls; 4 Grandchildren Jeffrey & Joshua of Geneva-on-the-Lake and Robert & Lillian of Cuyahoga Falls; Sister Donna Shutts of Dravosburg, PA; Brother Gary A. Swanson of Peachtree City, GA; Several Nieces & Nephews & Several Great Nieces & Nephews. Proceeded in death by his Parents, Lillian (Whitlock) & Elmer Swanson. Friends will be received 2-4:00 & 6-8:00 Friday, April 20th at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, April 21st at The Behm Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057 Don Branford will be officiating.
