Robert J. McMeechan died on his 71st birthday, July 22, 2018. Beloved father of Rita Doss, Sarah Gardner(Ian), Brendan, Kathleen Cora Williford(John); grandfather of 12 & great-grandfather of 3; brother of Jack(deceased), Rick, Ruthanne, James, and David (Banach). A Civil Engineering graduate of CSU, Rob was also an exceptional finish carpenter who built his own home in W Farmington. He was the founder of McMeechan Construction Co, a successful business today. An adventurous young man, he braved the Alaskan winters building the pipeline as well as a nearly catastrophic Lake Erie sailing trip on his catamaran. He enjoyed reading historical nonfiction, fishing, gardening and spirited discussions. His generosity and ingenuity will truly be missed by his loved ones. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Holden Arboretum. The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057 is assisting the family. Rob, was always a good friend and great to work with. I worked construction with Rob for several years and was glad that he could come and work for me when I had my mortgage company. He did some great commercial work for me. He was quite a practical joker also. He had a brilliant mind for detail. Rob, I will miss you. J R Pettit
