Robert F. Carrabine, age 93, of Thompson, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Residence of Chardon surrounded by his family. Born November 5, 1920 in Cleveland, he was the son of Gladys (Pfalzgraf) and Luke Carrabine. He married Margaret Janda in Albuquerque, NM on August 11, 1945. A 1938 Graduate of St. Ignatius High School, he also attended John Carroll University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was assigned to the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos, NM. After the war, Robert returned to work at TRW and retired after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Thompson. Robert enjoyed bingo, traveling and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He was a devoted husband and father always putting family first. He is survived by his sons, Robert A. (Mary) Carrabine of Little River, SC, Daniel F. (Kathleen) Carrabine of Garfield Heights, OH, Michael E. (Melissa) Carrabine of Chardon, OH, James J. Carrabine of Hartsgrove, OH, Brian P. Carrabine of Colebrook, OH; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Olive Carrabine of Sarasota, FL, Lois Carrabine of Brooklyn Heights, OH, Anna Weber of Brecksville, OH; brother-in-law, Donald Janda of Strongsville, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Margaret, who passed on November 4, 2013; parents; sister, Mary Rita Newell; brothers, Thomas and Richard Carrabine; brothers-in-law, Robert Newell and Lee Weber. Friends will be received 2-5 PM, Sunday, January 12, 2014 at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, January 13, 2014 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio.
