Robert E. Kramer

Robert E. Kramer, 84, of Thompson, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 10, 2009 Golden Living Center in Kirtland, OH. Born June 27, 1924 in Cleveland to Laura (Hansel) & Anthony "Lefty" Kramer he married Doris Meusner in Cleveland on July 18, 1945. Mr. Kramer Worked for Ohio Garment and Coyne Textile. From the early days of Willson Junior High and East Tech High School where he was a three sport letterman (football, basketball, baseball), ?Bobby? exhibited a zesty and intense competitive spirit that would be his hallmark to future endeavors. After graduation he continued to participate on the Cleveland sandlots and hard courts in Cleveland Class A Hardball and AAU Basketball, winning championships in each. He also played years of slow-pitch softball with several area top teams including All Sports from Sterling Park. After his playing days, he coached at several levels, leading many of his teams to championships. Later he took up bowling and golf which became his favorite past time. He is survived by Wife of 63 years, Doris of Thompson; Children, Thomas (Linda) Kramer of Spring Lake, MI, Fred (Peggy) Kramer of Mentor-on-the-Lake, OH & Kristy (Edwin) Filppi of Troy Township, OH; Grandson, Ryan Kramer of Mentor-on-the-Lake, OH He was preceded in death by Parents and Sister, Laura Hart. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation or services. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.
