Robert "Bob" Smith

Robert W. "Bob" Smith, age 84, of Madison, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 6, 2014. He was born February 27, 1929 in East Cleveland to Frances (McMahon) & Harvey Smith. He married Claire Greene in Cleveland. He was an Industrial Specialist with the Department of Defense in Cleveland for 13 years before retiring. He served 5 years in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Bob was very active in youth sports, serving as a softball and baseball coach for 40 years in Madison and various other communities in Ohio and New Jersey. He enjoyed working as a volunteer at North Madison Elementary for 14 years. He is survived by his loving daughters, Carol McGee of Painesville and Joan Drake of Madison; grandchildren, Ken McGee of Euclid, Charlene Drake of Madison, Jim McGee of Mentor & Phillip Drake of Madison; great-grandchildren, Britanny Manypenny Cody Drake, Danielle Manypenny, Joanna Drake, Jenna McGee & Amanda McGee; great-great-granddaughters, Anna & Emma. Friends will be received 6-8 PM Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057.
