robert pinkney

September 7, 1955 ~ June 9, 2021

Robert A. Pinkney, age 65, of Madison passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 surrounded by loved ones at home. He was born on September 7, 1955 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Agnes (Perazzolo) and Howard Pinkney. Robert married Patricia Weiland on November 8, 1980 in Willowick OH. Bob spent more than 40 years working in the Aerospace / Investment casting industry. He was a natural leader and a fantastic communicator. Bob didn’t have “co-workers”, so much as he had many, many friends – and ESPECIALLY friends that were as tight as any family - that just happened to share the same place of employment. He had a passion for golf and enjoyed coaching basketball and softball. Most of all, Bob (who was widely known as “Papa Bob”) loved floating with his grandkids in the pool and made the best waves. He loved his birds and trees and was often called the “Birdman of Madison”. He was a man of so many interests and passions who truly immersed himself in the things he loved. He even recently became an “ambassador” for Maker’s Mark where he has a bourbon barrel made in his name. Bob will forever be remembered for his ability to light up a room with his smile, conversation, and excellent taste in wine and music. Anybody blessed to have known Bob knows that he lived his life by the words he ended each conversation with, “Peace and Love”. Bob leaves behind his wife, Patty of 40 years; children, Amber (Ryan) Yeager and Geoffrey (Jennifer) Pinkney; grandchildren, Lilah and Aubrey Yeager and Addison and Lucas Pinkney. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert T. Pinkney and his parents. Friends will be received 12-1 pm Friday, June 18, 2021 at St. Cyprians Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Rd. in Perry with a Service immediately following at 1 pm officiated by Father George Kusy. Behm Family Funeral Home of Madison is assisting the family. Online obituary and condolences may be viewed at www.behmfuneral.com

  7. Rob was my best friend on 330th street as young kids. Our most enduring memories involved epic ping-pong matches, golf at Sequoia and Vink's in Willoughby and watching “The Wild, Wild West” show on TV. Was also honored to have been a reader at his and Patty's wedding all those years ago. I'll think of you often my friend, especially when I hear “Smoke on the Water”, our favorite song back then. Condolences to Patty and the family. Mike Raus

  14. We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bob. The world is a sadder place but the birds will be happier to have a angel to fly with them.

  15. Bob was one of the first people I met at PCC and he immediately began teaching me everything he knew. One silly memory was when I was new I asked “hey bob, where is the watering hole around here?” He promptly told me of a little place called Grumpies. He told me to meet up there after work. I lived with my parents still, but warned him I was fresh out of college and “knew how to drink”. Well within an hour of being there I was downing my 6th or 7th beer and couldn’t see straight. Bob just said “we’ll see you tomorrow at work peace and love”. I looked up and said wait a minute, I thought we were drinking tonight. He just said, “we did dude. You are a foundry guy now. We drink after work and are home for dinner and families” Me the “college drinker” used to going out until midnight had to call my mother to pick me up. Love ya forever Bob and peace and love to you.

  16. Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.

  17. Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss… Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

  18. Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss… Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

  19. Bobs memory will forever stay alive through all of us who's paths he has crossed. The cross of those paths changed all of us in some way.
