Richard “Buckwheat” Zapp, 66, passed on Wednesday June 15th, 2022. Richard was born April 19, 1956 to John & Tressa Zapp. Buckwheat loved all things involving race cars, talking about his grandchildren and helping everyone and anyone. A 1974 graduate of Madison High School, Richard has been a renowned and beloved resident of Madison, Ohio for 60+ years. Richard, an owner of Williams & Hathaway Auto Parts, a permanent fixture at Napa Auto Parts, loved nothing more than helping every single person that walked through the front door. Being a selfless servant to others was one of his most important things in his life up until the day he passed. Richard is survived by his children Rebecca (Stephen) Klima, Tommy (Ashley) Zapp and Elizabeth (Steve) Stebner; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Phylis, Lilian, Carol, Rosie, Marilyn; brothers, Robert, Alex, Dan. He was preceded in death by siblings, John Zapp Jr. and Tressa Beech; and brother-in-law, Ron Hupertz.   2. Dear Zapp Family, I don’t even know where to begin. I will miss Buckwheat so much.
    My brother Warren Brown was a little brother to him. Warren & I will miss him so much. This is truly a very sad loss. Everyone knew Buckwheat and he knew everyone! I love you “Wheat”. R.I.P. buddy! The world is a much sadder place without you.

  6. Went to vo-ed with Rick years ago and recently moved back to Ohio.
    Rick was indeed a kind hearted soul and everybody liked him there.
