Richard P. Szymanski

Richard P. Szymanski, age 59, of Geneva, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center. He was born June 26, 1953 in Painesville the son of Stanley and Mary Szymanski. A 1971 graduate of Madison High School, Rich always had a positive outlook on life and he was proud to help raise awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He most enjoyed the time spent with his children and grandchildren and could often be seen proudly cruising the streets of Geneva in his wheelchair. He attended the Geneva Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his daughter, Jessica (Jason) Brockway of Ashtabula; sons, Benjamin (Laura) Szymanski of Locust Grove, GA, Joel (Lindsey) Szymanski of Sebring, Ohio, Jordan Szymanski of Akron; 7 grandchildren, Orion, Noah, Kennedy, Aurora, Alexander, Matthew, Zachary, Micah; brother, Stanley Szymanski of PA; sisters, Nancy (Ed) Kuhary of NC and Mary Ann (Jim) Pierman of NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob Szymanski and sister Sherry Taub. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Geneva Church of the Nazarene, 710 Centennial Street in Geneva. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville. Contributions may be made to the family.
