Richard Loveland, age 88 of Thompson, passed away at UH Bedford Medical Center on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Born May 26, 1930 in Thompson, he was the son of the late Stanley and Hazel (Adams) Loveland. A graduate of Thompson Schools, Richard was a talented athlete and played on the schools first football team. An Army Veteran, he was proud of his service to our country and was a member of the Thompson - Leroy VFW. Richard worked for many years at the Diamond Shamrock, Thomas Fence Company, the Perry Power Plant and retired from Uniroyal. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan. As a supportive Grandpa, he always loved going to his grandkids sporting events. Richard is survived by his loving wife: Jackie; children: Denny of Ashtabula, Patty of Thompson, Annette (Randy) Fobell of Geneva, Ken (Debbie) of Geneva, Rick (Maria) of Montville, and Doug of Thompson; grandchildren: Jamie, Chris (Kris), Michelle (Daunte), Dominic (Devastasha), Zachary, Rick (Lena), Josh, and Anna Loveland; great grandchildren: Anthony and Christian Sturgill, Jaime Loveland, Nyla Webb, Everett Loveland and also numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his sister Evelyn Turner. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Dorothy Mattson, Irene Snyder, Mary Godwin, Mildred Loveland, Virginia Loveland, and Joanne Miggo; brothers: Ralph, Charles, Floyd, Steven, Homer, and Mike Loveland. Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. A second visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00am at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson. In Lieu of flowers The family suggests contributions to Thompson Fire Department 6778 Madison Rd, Thompson, OH 44086.   2. So sorry to hear about Uncle Dick. He and Aunt Jackie had hosted our reunions for many years opening their home for our very large family. They created wonderful memories for me as a child growing up and I will always remember those good times. I will never forget his beautiful smile and the gleam in his eye. We will miss you.
