Richard Lee McClure

Richard Lee McClure, 63, of Madison, Ohio passed away August 6, 2016 unexpectedly at his home.
In high school Richard played many sports for the Madison Blue Streaks, but particularly enjoyed playing football. Following high school, Richard enlisted in the United Sates Army, serving as a General's aide in Washington DC. Richard returned to Madison following his enlistment and began working as a Merchant Marine for many years. Richard gave up his career as a Merchant Marine when his children were born. He began working with a local construction company to support his family. He worked in construction for many years, until his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Richard then gave up his career in construction to assist with the care of his mother. Richard helped care for his mother until her passing and then he completed his bucket list and became a truck driver. He gave up his career as a truck driver when his grandson was diagnosed with autism. He then returned home and spent five years helping care for his two grandsons.
Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Esther Springer and his father Victor McClure. He is also preceded in death by his younger brother, Terry McClure.
Richard will be missed by many people in our community.
He is survived by William Springer, stepfather; Jean (John) Sency, sister; and his children, Jennifer (Kevin) Adkins, Tonya Cardona, and Richard McClure Jr. He will be truly missed by his grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
Contributions can be made to the East End YMCA, 730 North Lake Street, Madison, Ohio in Richard's honor.
Private family graveside services will be held.

Tonya, Upton and Ivan, We are so sorry for your loss! Although we'd never had the pleasure of meeting your dad, we certainly have seen his love and devotion to his family over the years! We are here for you and the boy's if you need anything.
