Richard E. Turner, 76, of Painesville Township, formerly of Thompson, died Monday, January 15, 2018. He was born December 10, 1941 in Washington Court House, OH to Bevis and Betty Jane Turner and had resided in Thompson most of his life. Rich worked as a dispatcher with R.W. Sidley Co. in Thompson, retiring after 44 years. He enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle, riding through all 48 continental states. He was a member of the Goldwing Road Riding Club and Northern Ohio Precision Drill Team. He also enjoyed playing golf and attending his grandkids activities. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra E. (Dewey); daughters Tracey (Bob) Gockel and Dawn (Jack) Tankovich, both of Mentor; grandchildren Kristen and Kyle Tankovich and Brooke Gockel. He was preceded in death by siblings William and Karen Turner and his parents. Friends will be received Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. Madison. A funeral will be Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Final Resting place will be Maple Grove Cemetery, Thompson.   7. I worked for Rich as a driver at RW Sidley for a number of years. Rich was never afraid to dish it out to us guys and on the same note took our grief on more than one occasion. He always treated us fair, always had our backs and made sure we made it home safe.
