Richard E. Caldwell took his first breath on June 26, 1946 and his last on December 30, 2012 when God decided to grant him his early retirement. The husband of 28 years to Rebecca (Garry), they made their home in Madison where he enjoyed taking care of their seven kitties. Richard had his eye on retirement after working nearly every day since the ground breaking heart surgery he had at age 18. He was the hardest working man, sometimes working three jobs to provide for his family. Richard was a simple man enjoying the love of his family, his chocolate, and of course his kitties. Richard spent his entire working life working in the machining industry, working the last twenty or so years for Sopko and Sons in Euclid. His expertize was unmatched. Richard will be greatly missed by his wife and children, James (Carrie) of Leroy, Bryan of New York, Diane (Derek) Morrison of Willoughby, Melissa (Richard) Wormald, and Meredith (Gabe) Rhodes Gemma of Geneva on the Lake; his grandchildren, Marcus, Caitlin, George, Christian, Cassie, Cameron, Crystal, Robert, Adam, Abby, Gabey, and Josie. Richard also has three great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lisle (JoAnn) of North Carolina, Charles of Leroy, Sandy (John) Teal of Fort Myers, and Jackie (Neil) Wilson of Leroy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lisle and Carrie (Harrison) Caldwell. Friends and family may call to show their love and support at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, from 5-8:00 pm., Thursday, January 3, 2013. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am. Friday, January 4, 2013 at the funeral home. Final Resting Place will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Madison Twp. Police and Fire Departments or your local Humane Society.
