Raymond J. Spangler

Raymond J. Spangler, age 84, of Madison, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Hospice House in Cleveland. He was born March 5, 1928 in Cleveland to Julia (Gelle) & James R. Spangler. He married Linda Plumley in Cleveland, Ohio on November 25, 1969. Raymond retired in 1981 as a Battalion Chief with the Cleveland Fire Department Battalion 6, serving on Engines 29, 30 and 31. He loved golfing, traveling and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Madison; daughters, Janet Kish of Cleveland, Tina Stroth Thompson, Evelyn (Anthony) Lekan of Independence; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and brother James Spangler of Mayfield He was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah and son Ray; his parents Julia & James Spangler, grandson, Gregory and son-in-law, Ronnie Stroth, Sr. Friends will be received 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. A Memorial Service will follow at 6 p.m. Final Resting Place will be Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva. Contributions may be made to the Madison Fire Department, 33 North Lake Street, Madison, OH, 44057. .
